Elvis Sucked*!
Well, no he actually didn’t, but now that i have your attention i am going to define why Elvis changed the way music is to this day.
All the experts will tell you its because of the way he “moved” on stage or TV. What if i said to you it was a combination of only just a handful of reasons why.
.
-
He could sing
-
He was at the right place at the right time in history
-
He was the James Dean with a mic
-
He was the opposite to the Authority (Politicians, laws, Sinatra and most of all.. your parents hated him)
-
If you were female you wanted to be in bed with him. If you were male, you wanted to be him (and probably to bed him too)
-
And here’s the big one….. the guitaring in his music was groundbreaking, it defined him and his “move” and created “the” Genre that was so unique in 1955. The guitaring (& overall sound) combined with his good looks and black voice was the most important ingredient ever musically to happen in the Twentieth Century.
*The only thing that really sucked, was his unnecessary death. If he was alive today he would have been the elder statesman of the music scene and revered as the alltime great that he was meant to be rather than just a “pop icon”of a slowly fading time in history. Now that sucks.
